Hong Kong Alumni Scholarship

The scholarship is offered by the Hong Kong Branch of the University of Bristol Alumni Association for a one-year Masters programme in any subject.

The scholarship is awarded on the grounds of academic excellence, financial need and future potential contribution to Hong Kong.

Who should apply?

The successful candidate must:

  • have been accepted for a one-year Masters programme at the University of Bristol AND
  • have substantial links with Hong Kong and intend to return to Hong Kong after successful completion of the Masters programme,
  • be able to prove that they have the ability to succeed with higher level studies, usually by showing excellent academic results at undergraduate level,
  • be able to provide maintenance of approximately £13,000, plus return airfare, but might have difficulty in providing the full amount of the tuition fees.

Priority will be given to applicants who have not previously studied in the UK.

Preference is given to candidates who have had a job post-Bachelor degree, however lack of work experience does not disqualify applicants from applying.

What is it?

  • One scholarship of up to £15,000 for a one-year Masters programme at the University of Bristol.
  • The scholarship can only be used towards the cost of tuition fees.

How do I apply?

  • Short-listed applicants will be asked to demonstrate both the need for some financial assistance, and the ability to fund the balance of the costs of living in Bristol.
  • The deadline for 2019/20 has now passed.
  • Further information about 2020/21 entry will be available later in the year.

  • Any one-year postgraduate Masters programme.
