Black Bristol Scholarship Programme

This programme of scholarships supports Black students to study in higher education.

This programme of scholarships will support around 130 Black students over the course of the next four years.

Support is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.

Starting for those applying for entry in September 2021 the programme offers a total of more than £1million in scholarships.

Eligible applicants will have one of the following categories of ethnicity:

Black African
Black Caribbean
Black Other
Mixed – White and Black Caribbean
Mixed – White and Black African
Other mixed background (to include Black African, Black Caribbean or Black Other)

Undergraduate scholarships

Black Futures Scholarships
These scholarships are for Black UK applicants, towards your first year of undergraduate study and employability opportunities.

Access Postgrad
There are 10 fee waivers available to Access Postgrad participants.
Black Bristol PGCE Scholarships
Black UK applicants can apply for a scholarship towards the cost of undertaking a PGCE course.
Opportunity Bristol: Widening Participation in PGR Programmes
These bursaries provide fee, stipend and programme cost support for UK-domiciled, home fee-paying Black applicants undertaking research-related Master's programmes.
MA Black Humanities Scholarship for teachers
Black teachers in the UK can apply for a scholarship to cover fees on this MA programme.
Black Heritage PhD Scholarships
A full fee waiver and stipend for UK-domiciled, home fee-paying PGR applicants from a black background in the faculties of Arts, Social Sciences and Law, and Life Sciences.
