Christopher Frederick Edwards Bursary: terms and conditions

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Christopher Frederick Edwards Bursary you must:

  • be a Home (UK) undergraduate student;
  • have an offer to study full-time at the University of Bristol on either
    • the 5-year BDS Dentistry (A206) course, or 
    • the 6-year BDS Gateway to Dentistry (A208) course;
  • be studying your first degree;
  • be eligible for and have applied for full government support.

Award

The bursary is valued at £750, payable in one instalment in November. This a one-off award, which is paid in your first year of study only.

How to apply

Applications are made via the Additional Funding form. When you apply for Additional Funding, you complete one application form but are considered for a number of scholarships and bursaries. You can read more about the awards on the Additional Funding page.

All applications should be received by the published deadline. The online application form will close once the deadline has passed. There is no appeal process and requests to submit late applications will not be considered.

Other criteria

  • To receive a payment, you must be registered on your course.
  • You must provide your bank account details to ensure timely award payments.
  • The bursary is payable in the first year of study only and will not be payable again should you need to repeat your first year. 
  • The Christopher Frederick Edwards Bursary is payable in conjunction with any other University award which you are eligible to receive.
