Up to 200 bursaries a year are available to cover the cost of gown hire. Costs range from £45 to £58.

This bursary is funded by the generosity of our graduation gown supplier, Ede & Ravenscroft.

Eligibility

You can apply if you:

• find the cost of hiring a gown is a barrier to attending your graduation ceremony
• are about to graduate following completion of an undergraduate or postgraduate course
• have been invited to a graduation ceremony in Bristol.

Applications for the January 2025 ceremonies open on 15 October 2024.

Deadline

Applications for the January 2025 ceremonies will close at 9 am on Wednesday 18 December 2024. We are unable to accept any late applications.

We will release the deadlines for future ceremonies later in the year.

Assessment process

The Scholarships and Bursaries Team will assess your eligibility based on previous financial support you have received. Priority will be given to students who have previously received financial support from the University.

We will inform you of the outcome of your application by 8 January 2025.

For the past four congregations, we accepted 1 in 3 eligible applications. We will rank eligible applicants as outlined in the terms and conditions.
