Digital Support Fund
Get help with the cost of IT equipment and repairs if you are financially struggling.
About the Digital Support Fund
You can ask for up to £250 towards the cost of IT equipment or repairs. You do not need to pay this money back.
You must apply for this fund before you buy an item or arrange a repair. We cannot offer funding if the payment has already been made.
You can only receive one Digital Support Fund payment during your studies
Who can apply for the Digital Support Fund
To apply, you must have been studying here for at least two months.
The fund is available to:
- undergraduates students
- postgraduate taught and research students
- home, UK and international fee-paying students.
You must also be receiving one of these funds in this current academic year:
- University of Bristol Bursary
- Access to Bristol Bursary
- Bristol Scholars Bursary
- Financial Assistance Fund.
You cannot apply if you are a:
- pre-sessional student
- visiting student
- exchange student.
How to apply for the Digital Support Fund
- Provide your bank details in your financial statement.
- Prepare screenshots showing:
- the products you intend to purchase, with the prices clearly displayed
- or a quote from your repair technician that clearly shows the price of the repair.
- Complete the application form. Log in with your University email.
If your application has incomplete supporting documents, it may take us longer to assess it, or your application could be unsuccessful.
We might ask you for additional information when we assess your application.
After you apply for the Digital Support Fund
We aim to respond within five working days to tell you if your application was successful.
Within one month of receiving the fund, you must send us a receipt showing the purchase of IT equipment or repair. If we do not receive a receipt, you will need to repay the funding.
Send receipts and any other supporting documents to hardship-fund@bristol.ac.uk.
Borrow a laptop
You can borrow a laptop for up to one month if you do not have regular access to another device.
