Access to the building
All residents are issued keycards for access to their own flats and communal areas such as the common room and bin store.
This building is not wheelchair accessible.
There are lifts to every floor.
Bike storage
Bike storage is available on the basement floor to the rear of the property. This can be accessed through the rear carpark of Phoenix Court with your keycard.
Bicycles must not be brought into the house/flats due to fire regulations. Any bicycle found in the building, including in bedrooms, will be removed.

There are bus links, including a bus stop on each side of the road at the front of the building.

Catering options
This residence is self-catered, but food and drink packages are available to purchase.
Cleaning, recycling and rubbish
Kitchen cleans are not provided but kitchens will be inspected monthly. Conduct policy will be followed in instances where cleanliness conidiations are unacceptable.
You are responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of your accommodation. The Student Cleaning Expectations and Guidance document has some helpful information on what cleaning products to use and how, so you know what to do to ensure your accommodation is cleaned well and that you are maintaining a healthy environment.
The bin store is at the rear of the building with general waste bins. This includes recycling deposits for glass, plastic, metal, and cardboard.

Fire assembly point at Marketgate
The assembly point for Marketgate is outside vehicle gate to rear of building, Champion Square, BS1 3EN.
Fire alarm testing
Fire alarms are tested every Tuesday at 4 pm.
First aid
You should report an accident or near miss to the Student Support Centre so we can take steps to prevent it from happening again.
A near miss is an incident that could have resulted in an injury, such as slipping on the stairs or uneven flooring.
Your onsite accommodation team do not hold first aid boxes. They are unable to provide you with bandages, dressings, plasters or any medication.

Insurance
Basic personal belongings are insured as part of your accommodation contract.
Insurance for this residence is provided by the University of Bristol through Cover4Students.
Check your policy and arrange additional cover if required.
Laundry facilities and costs
Prices:
- Washing: from £3.50
- Drying: from £2.10
Drying clothes
You should not dry wet clothes in your room. This causes condensation and mould which can cause health problems, including some potentially serious lung infections.
Lost keys or locked out
Staff are onsite 24/7 to allow residents access back into flats. There is an £8 replacement charge for lost keycards.
Lost property
Any lost property will be held in the reception office. If not recovered beyond an extensive period of time, it may be disposed of.
Parking
There is no parking available at this residence.
Pest problem
If you think there are pests present, report this to your Residential Facilities Coordinator as soon as possible. This includes rats, mice, cockroaches, bedbugs, fleas, wasps, bees, ants, moths, beetles, moles, foxes, pigeons, squirrels, and silverfish.
We have regular pest control visits for checks around common areas of property, and available for any specific callouts if required.
Post
Parcels are stored in reception and issued to residents after an ID check. Parcels are logged on the My Unite App, residents will receive a notification when their delivery has arrived.
Letters are stored in postboxes by staff. Each cluster flat has its own postbox for post with a 3-digit access code. You will be given the code for your postbox on request.
Rent and tenancy dates
The dates of your tenancy and total accommodation fee can be found in your tenancy agreement in the Accommodation Portal.

Request a repair
Maintenance requests can be logged on the My Unite App. Emergency incidents can be brought to the immediate attention of site staff at reception or via the Marketgate Duty Phone number listed above.
Damage
If you break or damage something in your residence you need to report it to us.
If you don't tell us, it will be picked up at the end of your tenancy and you may be charged for the repair.
Security and safety
In case of an emergency, call 999 to contact the emergency services, including police and ambulance.
After calling 999, if you are on campus, call Security Services on +44 (0)117 331 1223.

Security staff are on site during the night, from 10 pm to 7 am, where the daytime staff take over.
