Modulation and translation of immunity
The immune system presents both a fundamental biological problem and a powerful therapeutic opportunity.
Our work in this area is concerned with understanding how immune responses are initiated, regulated and resolved, and how these processes can be manipulated in different disease contexts.
In Bristol, there is a strong emphasis on linking molecular and cellular immunology with translational outcomes, whether in infection, cancer or inflammatory disease.
Our objective is to move seamlessly from basic discovery to intervention, developing new approaches to modulate immunity that can be deployed in clinical settings, while maintaining a rigorous mechanistic underpinning.
