Our education master's degrees give you the opportunity to design a tailored programme of study that suits your learning and professional needs. You will be able to specialise and receive an award in a particular disciplinary area.
This programme focuses on inclusive practice. It is intended for teachers and other professionals working with students who are experiencing barriers to learning and participation or other special educational needs, whether in mainstream schools, special schools/units, colleges or early years settings.
It is designed to help you develop your knowledge, understanding and critical skills in analysing and evaluating current research, theory and practice. The programme will provide you with opportunities to explore a range of areas, such as international developments in special/inclusive education, how to work with and involve parents and children, and the school's role in promoting inclusion. You will also look at a range of topics that arouse controversy and debate in the area of special needs.
The Inclusive Education pathway is designed for professionals with some experience, either in paid employment or as a volunteer.
Fees for 2020/21
We charge an annual tuition fee. Fees for 2020/21 are as follows:
- UK/EU: full-time
- Overseas: full-time
- Channel Islands/Isle of Man: full-time

Our education master's degrees enable students to design a tailored programme of study suited to their cultural and learning needs. Students on this programme will be able to specialise and receive an award in a particular disciplinary area.

Alternatively, you can design your own pathway by opting not to specialise. Core units can be taken from across the different specialisms and from our bank of optional units to build a tailored programme of study, resulting in an award of MSc Education.
A good UK undergraduate honours degree (or international equivalent) and normally some appropriate professional experience, which may include voluntary work as well as paid employment.
