Studentships

We offer a number of fully-funded 4 year studentships covering 

• tuition fees at UK rate 
• £25,112 per year for living expenses (tax-free stipend) and 
• equipment and travel allowance to support research related activities. 

A separate application is NOT required to apply for funding. All applications received will be reviewed for potential scholarship funding and applicants informed accordingly.   

Studentship funding is pro-rata and dependent on student registration status, with annual funding renewal dependent on maintaining excellent academic progress. 

TechExpert Pilot Scheme

The EPSRC CDT in Cyber Security is part of the TechExpert pilot offering stipends of £31,000 for students eligible for home fee status. The start date is September 2026.

TechExpert students will receive an enhanced stipend of £10,000 above the UKRI minimum stipend. In return students will be asked to take part in additional TechExpert activities throughout the year, including outreach, networking with the TechFirst community and engagement with the tech industry.

 

International Studentship Funding

For excellent International/ EU candidates, we may choose to provide open eligibility for up to 30% per student cohort. To be considered,  please apply as early as possible. 

Please note that our international studentship funding is limited,  very competitive and  often over subscribed.   Therefore we would advise non-home fees status applicants to also consider alternative/additional funding sources.
