The role of personal relationships in borrowing, saving and over-indebtedness: a life course perspective
Author: Andrea Finney
In the public perception, financial difficulties are commonly linked with relationship breakdown. Empirical research supports this notion, with relationship breakdown implicated as both contributing to and resulting from over-indebtedness.
This chapter examines patterns of consumer borrowing, saving and over-indebtedness over the life-course,with a special focus on the formation and dissolution of intimate relationships and child-rearing.
