International Strategic Fund (ISF) (Closed 15th June 2018)

Aim of the awards

The International Strategic Fund (ISF) supports Bristol researchers in establishing or advancing sustainable international research partnerships, for example with European partners on Horizon 2020 collaborations or with colleagues from around the world, which will lead to high quality research outcomes and impacts. All activities and expenditure must occur before 31st July 2018.

The awards should be viewed as part of the first phase of funding that will enable longer-term collaborations between the University of Bristol and international partners. Any academic, researcher or postgraduate student who wishes to develop sustainable research collaborations between the University and an international partner may apply.

This scheme does not support activities aimed at research that is eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA) funding, for example the Newton Fund or GCRF. If you wish to apply for similar funding for ODA-relevant research please visit: https://www.bris.ac.uk/red/development/applying/gcrf/pumppriming/

Funding available

We anticipate that funding will normally cover travel and subsistence costs incurred in the course of initiating or building upon international collaboration. Other forms of support will be considered on a case-by-case basis. A FEC costing is not required.

Application process

This call has no deadlines. RED will aim to process submitted applications on a monthly basis. Complete the application form, link below, and send it to rd-international@bristol.ac.uk. Applications will be reviewed by RED, signed off by the relevant Faculty Research Directors, with oversight from the Pro Vice-Chancellor of Research.
