Getting around campus if you are disabled
Find out how to use disabled parking spaces and access University buildings and accommodation.
Disabled parking around campus
Clifton Campus disabled parking
Blue badge holders
If you have a blue badge, you can:
- use ‘pay and display’ parking for free, all day
- park on single or double yellow lines for free, for up to three hours.
You need to display your blue badge when you park.
You can’t use a disabled space in University car parks. They are reserved.
Student parking permits
Students can apply for a disabled parking space and permit.
Visitor parking
If you have a blue badge and you are visiting a student at their accommodation, you can park in a disabled parking space. You do not need a visitor permit. For more information, email dg-rfmteam@bristol.ac.uk.
If you want to visit a staff member, contact the person you are visiting and ask them to organise parking for you.
Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus disabled parking
Blue badge holders
If you have a blue badge, you should book a parking space at Temple Quarter in advance.
You can also use on-street parking based on the blue badge guidance. Spaces are limited.
You need to display your blue badge when you park.
Student parking permits
You can’t use a student parking permit at Temple Quarter.
Student Disability Service parking
If you are visiting the Student Disability Service and you have a disability, you can reserve a parking space by emailing disability-services@bristol.ac.uk. There is no cost for this service.
Building and accommodation access
Building accessibility
To ask about a building’s accessibility, contact your School Disability Coordinator. Or the building’s access information could already be in our AccessAble building guides.
Many of our buildings are historic and protected, so we may be unable to make adaptations.
Study rooms
To study in a private area, you can book a study room.
To book a room for a meeting with your support worker or diagnostic assessor, use the 'find a room' service.
Sensory rooms
If you have a neurodiverse condition, you can use a sensory room with calming decor and sensory objects.
Location of sensory rooms:
- Senate House, fourth floor
- Richmond Building, third floor.
These rooms includes sensory objects and calming decor. To book a sensory room, email bristolsu-spaces@bristol.ac.uk.
At the Sloane Robinson Building, you can also use a low-distraction study space.
Accommodation accessibility
You should tell us if you are disabled when you apply for accommodation. This will help us offer you an accessible room.
