How to request accommodation that meets your disability, wellbeing or religious requirements.

Tell us your accommodation needs
You should tell us about your disability, health or religious requirements when you apply for accommodation. We will try to offer a room that meets your needs.
Depending on your circumstances, you might need a:
- larger bed
- en suite room
- adapted room
- studio room
- catered room
- self-catered room
- fridge to store medicine
- vibrating pillow
- room without carpets.
If your needs change or your room is not suitable, contact student-accommodation@bristol.ac.uk.

Adapted rooms
Some rooms are adapted for disabled students.
Wheelchair users could get a ground floor room with:
- power-assisted doors
- low kitchen work surfaces
- accessible storage
- wet rooms with shower chairs, handrails and emergency pull cords.
Blind or visually impaired students could get:
- a talking microwave
- an adapted hob
- bump corners
- a studio room.
Deaf or hearing-impaired students could get fire alarms with flashing lights.
If you have an assistance dog, we may also be able to offer you a suitable room.
Reduced rent for disabled students
If you need an adapted room or studio room because of your disability, you may be able to request a rent reduction.
Emergency evacuation support
If you need help to evacuate in an emergency, you must request a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP).
Most residences do not have staff on site.
