Adapted rooms

Some rooms are adapted for disabled students.

Wheelchair users could get a ground floor room with:

  • power-assisted doors
  • low kitchen work surfaces
  • accessible storage
  • wet rooms with shower chairs, handrails and emergency pull cords.

Blind or visually impaired students could get:

  • a talking microwave
  • an adapted hob
  • bump corners
  • a studio room.

Deaf or hearing-impaired students could get fire alarms with flashing lights.

If you have an assistance dog, we may also be able to offer you a suitable room.

Reduced rent for disabled students

If you need an adapted room or studio room because of your disability, you may be able to request a rent reduction.

Emergency evacuation support

If you need help to evacuate in an emergency, you must request a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP).

Most residences do not have staff on site.
