MSc Global Health Policy

The MSc in Global Health Policy will enable you to understand current and future global health policy challenges and to design and evaluate sustainable and equitable policy solutions using the latest techniques.  

Our interdisciplinary social sciences programme encourages you to critically question what constitutes knowledge, evidence, policy-making and power to enable you to become the change-makers of the future.  The programme was developed in consultation with UK and international employers to ensure you graduate with the right skills to apply for roles in the broad field of global health policy.

You will learn about some of the world’s most pressing transnational health and care challenges, covering topics such as:

  • pandemic response and preparedness, 
  • the health impacts of climate change and poverty, 
  • global nutrition challenges
  • migration and health, 
  • global increases in long-term health conditions, ageing and mental illness. 

Programme structure

You will take four mandatory units and choose two optional units from a range of subjects. Then you will undertake a final dissertation or, if you choose, apply for the  Work-Based Applied Research unit to have the opportunity to work on a co-produced research-based project with a host organisation within the global health policy field.
