Centre for Family Policy and Child Welfare

The Centre for Family Policy and Child Welfare (CFPCW) is a focus for research and teaching in child welfare and family policy. Our members have backgrounds in social policy, social work, sociology and psychology.

Main themes include:parenting; looked after children/children in care; fostering, adoption and kinship care; child protection; family support; social and emotional learning; education of children in care; teenage intimate partner violence ('dating violence'); and teenage pregnancy and parenting.

The Centre also hosts The Hadley Centre for Adoption and Foster Care Studies.
