Email and Calendar
When you get your sign-in details, you can request a friendly email name, for example, firstname.surname@bristol.ac.uk. Please allow up to 24 hours for this to be activated. You can only change your email address once. If you have changed your email address previously, you must contact the IT Service Desk.
University of Bristol staff use Microsoft Outlook for email and calendar. Staff can access Outlook services online at outlook.cloud.microsoft/mail/ or bristol.ac.uk/email. Outlook desktop is also available on all University managed computers.
Microsoft 365
Information about Outlook email and calendar, as well as other Microsoft 365 services, is available on the Microsoft 365 Support Site (University members only). This includes information about setting up University email on your mobile phone or tablet.
Microsoft 365 provides a suite of tools, including Microsoft applications. Microsoft 365 includes OneDrive for Business, a secure cloud storage service, Teams, Viva Engage (for staff and postgraduate research students only), and SharePoint.
Add a photo to your Microsoft 365 account by visiting https://myaccount.microsoft.com/ and following the instructions to update your profile photo.
Access via personal devices
You can also access Microsoft services through a range of applications on personal and unmanaged devices. Access to University data is managed to ensure devices meet security requirements.
