How to access wifi on campus.

Students and staff

The university wireless network is called eduroam. You should use eduroam rather than the guest wifi or a mobile network.

Connect a personal device on campus

Eduroam can be used on most electronic devices, including phones, laptops and tablets.

  1. Download the geteduroam app
    a.
    Apple store: geteduroam app
    b. Google play store: geteduroam app
    c. Windows laptop: geteduroam app
  2. Type in University of Bristol
  3. Select eduroam
  4. Enter your University email address and password.

We recommend you keep the geteduroam app on your device. If you uninstall the app, you may need to download again to get online.

In University accommodation

Connect to wifi in your residence, using either eduroam or a wired connection.

Connect a University electronic device (staff and postgraduate research students)

Your University device will be set up to connect to the network automatically.

Visitors

If you do not have access to eduroam, connect to our Guest wifi by following the steps below.

  1. Search for UoB Guest wifi
  2. Your device will ask you to sign in to the wifi network
  3. Select an authentication method. You can use your Facebook or LinkedIn account. Alternatively, you can choose to receive a code via text message (SMS).
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to get connected.
