Xerte is an online tool that enables you to create engaging, interactive and accessible online learning materials. It provides simple tools and template pages with a variety of interactions that can include text, images, media and more. It is:
Easy to start: Xerte is an online tool. Nothing to download or install, just open in a browser and you’re ready to go.
Easy to use: You can create online tutorials without needing expensive tools or coding skills.
Easy to publish and maintain resources: Your projects live on a dedicated server. Once published you can place them into VLEs (Blackboard, Moodle), websites or emails. Changes made to a project are instantly reflected anywhere linked or embedded. You won’t end up with out-of-date versions floating around.
Mobile friendly: Content is published as HTML5 - the standard for interactive online materials, and works with most devices - no need to download extra software or plugins.
Can be used by staff or students: Xerte is a powerful tool, available to everyone with a UoB login.
Once a user is orientated, Xerte is relatively easy to use. Contact us for advice and guidance.
