Year 2 Student - 2024 Cohort - Cohort 6 I have a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Bristol. I focused primarily on pure mathematics, particularly Analysis and Group Theory. I wrote my dissertation on the Infinite Abelian groups and held a summer research position researching topics in Geometric Group Theory. I took a year out to go travelling and then began my time here at the CDT. I’m currently interested in too many topics and will begin narrowing my interests in the second term. |

Strategies for the secure and efficient implementation of a changing cryptographic landscape. Cryptographic engineering bridges the gap between the theory and the practice of cryptography. It sits at the boundary of two transitioning fields; increasingly complex mathematical constructions need mapping onto a fragmentary array of available hardware. Fortunately, there are commonalities across the various mathematical constructions - basic building blocks, called primitives, that are shared amongst several schemes - and, similarly, across the implementation techniques employed. This PhD aims to investigate and improve the strategies employed to securely and efficiently implement cryptography in software. |
