Vital infrastructures, such as water, power, transportation, and manufacturing, are becoming increasingly inter-connected through the Internet of Things (IoT), smart grid innovations and the growth in wireless sensor technologies.
To protect our everyday services, we need more people who can understand and resolve the trust, identity, privacy and security issues in these large-scale, hyper-connected infrastructures (TIPS-at-scale).
The CDT is a joint-university, inter-disciplinary collaboration between the Universities of Bristol and Bath, and is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
Our approach is fundamentally different from regular research training. You will learn from leading experts within multiple disciplines, including psychology, management, engineering, sociology and computer science. This will give you a holistic understanding that is more attuned to the complex realities of tackling cyber security problems in real-scale infrastructures.
From Day 1, you will learn to approach the problems of cyber security (trust, identity, privacy and security) from an at-scale perspective and develop solutions that are rooted in a framework for responsible innovation.
