Entrepreneurships
- Got a business idea you'd like to explore this summer?
- Would £1500 be useful in exploring that idea or supporting you whilst you do?
- Could you make use of a free desk and business advice?
If you have a business idea to develop, and you believe that a summer spent exploring that idea at least 3 days a week would make a real difference to its success, then RED and Basecamp are interested in hearing from you.
We are creating four ‘Entrepreneurships’ (basically an internship on your own entrepreneurial idea) for the 2012 summer break. These are for non-final-year students to explore their idea with RED and Basecamp support.
We provide each entrepreneurship with a dedicated desk in our Basecamp student start-up space, access to our business support staff on a weekly basis, and a £1500 grant to either spend on the business or use to support themselves.
We will provide some of that money up-front and the rest on achieving mutually-agreed milestones for the development of the business over the summer. We expect entrepreneurs to be working on their ideas at least three days a week here in Bristol at the University (or 36 days across the 12-week summer holiday). You may also take additional part-time work on the remaining days of the week and take up to 10 days’ complete holiday by arrangement.
Applicants should write a summary of their business idea and a proposed development plan they would endeavour to complete over the summer on no more than three sides of A4 and send it to Will Goodwin by midnight on the 7th May 2012. For more information about the scheme please contact the Graduate Entrepreneur-in-Residence Will Goodwin by email or by visiting the Basecamp office in MVB.
