Returning students

All returning students need to register before you start your studies.

Make sure you re-register. If you do not re-register your access to University facilities and buildings may stop. There may also be financial consequences affecting funding, scholarships, loans from the Student Loans Company, and exemption from council tax.

All returning students need to register each year. This includes students studying on a distance learning basis, on placements, study abroad, those on supplementary years and those on research or visiting student programmes.

Register for your next year of study

When you register, you will check and update your personal details and accept the Student Agreement. You must keep your contact details up to date during your studies so we can contact you.

Deadlines to register

Most students returning in September can register between 22 August and 6 September 2024.

If you need a Student Document Check, you can register between 9 September and 13 September 2024. You will receive an email once Student Document Check bookings are open.

If your course has a non-standard start date, you will receive an email with information about registration, including the deadline.

Unable to register

If you cannot register by the deadline, you must notify your Faculty office and register by the latest registration date for your course.

How to register

  1. Login to Student info (use a laptop or computer instead of a phone).
  2. Select "Registration" in red text from the left-hand menu.

Make sure you bring your UCard when you come back.

If you didn't collect your UCard last year or need a replacement UCard, go to Card Services in Royal Fort Lodge who will be able to help you.

Pay your tuition fees

If you are a self-financing student or a sponsored student you must arrange to pay your tuition fees.

If you are subject to immigration control

If your nationality indicates you may require a visa, you will need to complete a student document check (right to study) if:

  • you are returning to the University after a suspension
  • you have not provided all the required documents
  • you have a new Student visa for any other reason.
