Funding

The University of Bristol has strong links with some world leading sponsors, meaning we can offer our students some great opportunities including significant grant funding to help you launch your start-up. Each year we can give up to £40,000 in funding to UoB student and staff business ideas.

The New Enterprise Competition

The New Enterprise Competition is a three-stage competition, giving you the opportunity to apply for grant funding at every stage of your Start-up journey from idea conception, development to growth of your venture.

Whether the idea is early stage or more developed, there will be an opportunity for you to apply for grant funding and support. Ideas can be social enterprises, charities, or traditional business models, it doesn't matter! What we look for are good ideas we believe could be developed into a viable business

Please note, you don't need to enter any particular stage before applying for a later stage in the competition and you can apply to every stage.
