Anh-Linh's story
Anh-Linh shares their experience of Bristol cultural life, societies and finding community.
Anh-Linh’s experience
Anh-Linh, a postgraduate student in Banking and Finance Law from Vietnam, spent her first weeks in Bristol exploring the city and university campus. By walking through different neighbourhoods, visiting the museum and city centre, and getting to know the local area, she quickly became familiar with daily life in Bristol.
She found that the city offers a vibrant and active environment, with students and residents making the most of outdoor spaces such as the harbourside. Welcome Week provided an important starting point, offering a wide range of events and societies to explore and opportunities to connect with other students.
Through activities such as guided tours with the Global Lounge, cultural events including the Language Café and Mid-Autumn Festival, and workshops celebrating different communities, Anh-Linh was able to meet students from a variety of backgrounds. She also took part in free B:Active sports sessions, which provided another way to get involved and connect with others, including many fellow international students.
