Support if you have a child
You could get financial support if you have a child:
- aged under 15
- with disability or special educational needs, aged under 17.
Childcare grants
Apply for funding towards childcare costs:

- Scotland childcare funding
- Northern Ireland childcare grant.
Parents' Learning Allowance
Apply for funding towards learning costs:
- England parents’ learning allowance
- Wales parents’ learning allowance
- Scotland funding for parents
- Northern Ireland parents’ learning allowance.
Universal Credit
You might be able to claim Universal Credit (gov.uk) to help with your living costs.
Support if you care for a dependent adult
If another adult depends on you financially, you could get:
- England adult dependants’ grant
- Wales adult dependants’ grant
- Scotland funding for carers
- Northern Ireland adult dependants grant.
