Mental health and wellbeing
Mental health is just as important as physical health, and it is important that we take care of both and recognise that both can be affected by external factors. The School of Psychological Science supports everyone to develop positive wellbeing as well as helping staff and students when they feel unwell.
Staff complete online training to give them the skills, knowledge and confidence to offer a first line of support to students and help guide them to further sources of support.
Staff Development Services offer a range of courses and resources to help improve and support your wellbeing at work and in life.
There is also the University Disability Services, who provide information, advice and support to prospective and current students with a range of disabilities, learning difficulties and other physical health and mental health conditions.
A University-wide approach
Awareness of mental health issues in the workplace is growing and we are putting in place many interventions to help support the wellbeing of our staff and students, and to develop and sustain a healthy working environment.
