Printer fleet changes

New printers

Additions to the printer fleet will only be approved with a strong business case. Despite a significant reduction in the size of the fleet, we are still left with an average of 50% of the usage (per device) compared to 2019. If you feel you have a significant case to justify an additional printer, please contact us.

Printer relocations

Locations of printers have been carefully chosen to provide access to the majority of users, both staff and students. If you feel relocating a device would improve accessibility, please contact us with your suggestions. Note that many devices will be shared between schools or departments, please consider all users when making any recommendation.

Under no circumstances should printers be relocated within a building or between buildings without approval from Print Services.

Disposal of printers

All printers in the fleet are contracted until 2031, under NO circumstances should any printer be disposed of. If you no longer require a printer, please contact us and we will find an alternate location.

 

Please do not turn off any printer at any time. They consume very little electricity when in stand-by and Canon need access on a regular basis.
