Civic engagement
Our student and staff are increasingly socially conscious and have welcomed an educational approach that is embedded in the local area.
We endeavour to enable our students to explore the ways knowledge is created, collected, disseminated and influences the wider world, understanding the impact on our planet and respecting the lived experience of the communities we serve.
Primary care and community activities
Temple Quarter
We’re building our future alongside the communities who share our city. We are developing a research and teaching-intensive primary care offer at Temple Quarter.
Accessible facilities, dedicated spaces for public engagement, participatory art and restored green landscapes will make the new campus a destination for Bristol and the region.
Micro-campuses
We are expanding community activities within the city of Bristol via the University micro-Campuses at Barton Hill and Hartcliffe.
These are places where we develop community-based teaching, research, workshops and engagement in partnership with local individuals, groups, and organisations. We engage with the local communities to better understand people’s needs, aspirations and challenges, combining expertise to solve local and global issues together.
Sustainability
We are committed to reducing our negative impact on the environment through a wide range of initiatives that support sustainability and biodiversity in our teaching and research.
