Timetable for PGCE awards ceremony

Find out where you need to be and when throughout the day for your awards ceremony.

From 8 am

Ticket collection opens in the Richmond Building. Only the graduand should go to collect tickets. Guests are welcome to wait in the café.

You can collect your tickets any time from 8 am, however please leave enough time to be seated at the Richmond Building by the time given below.

Any returned tickets after the extra ticket ballot has been run will be released at 4 pm, at a maximum of 1 per graduand.  See our Tickets webpage for further details.

From 8 am Robing room opens for gown collection at the Richmond Building. Only the graduand should go to collect the gown. Guests are welcome to wait in the café. 
From 8 am The official photography service opens at the Richmond Building.
4:40 pm - 5:55 pm Graduands can take their seats in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building. Graduands must be seated by 5:55 pm at the latest.
5:55 pm - 6:10 pm Guests can take their seats in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building. If you do not have a ticket you can watch the ceremony on a big screen, or watch live online.
6:30 pm The ceremony starts. Latecomers will not be admitted. You can find out what to expect during the ceremony.
7:30 pm approx The ceremony ends. We recommend arranging a meeting place a short distance away from the exit point as the area will be very busy.
9 pm The official photography service closes. 
9 pm Deadline for the return of hired gowns. Gowns can be returned to the drop-off points at the Richmond Building or the Wills Memorial Building.

The rest of your day

As long as you collect your tickets, pick up and drop off your gown and arrive at the Great Hall at the required time, you are free to spend your day as you wish.
