20-22 October 2020 Study Abroad in English virtual information sessions
Open to all University of Bristol undergraduate students who are eligible to study abroad in English in academic year 2021/22 for a semester or a year. Our virtual sessions will focus on the application process; fees, finance and budgeting and information about specific regions. The sessions will be hosted on blackboard. Please see our How to apply pages on how to access the sessions.  

27-29 October 2020 

Study Abroad Spotlight Sessions
Open to all University of Bristol undergraduate students who are eligible to study abroad in English in academic year 2021/22 for a semester or a year. Each session will take a closer look at studying in a different destination including: Tokyo, Hong Kong, University of Wisconsin-Madison, KU Leuven, California State University, Salve Regina University, and Western Michigan University. See our events page for session times. You can access all of these sessions via the Global Opportunities 2020/2021 Blackboard organisation.  
2-12 November 2020

Year studying abroad in a modern language registration period
Second-year students due to study abroad in 2021/22 in a foreign language (Law and a language, Liberal Arts students on a modern language pathway and Study in Continental Europe programme students) submit online registration form with their department allocated host university abroad. 

4-18 November 2020

Year studying abroad in English application period
Second year students intending to study abroad in 2021/22 submit online applications to Global Opportunities with five (5) chosen universities abroad available for your subject. Refer to our how to apply pages for more details. 

Semester studying abroad in English application period
First year students intending to study abroad in 2021/22 submit online applications to Global Opportunities with five (5) chosen universities abroad available for your subject. Refer to our how to apply pages for more details. 

Year studying abroad registration period for Law students
Second year Law students due to study abroad in 2021/22 submit online registration form with their department allocated host university abroad.

7 December 2020      Notified of outcome of application*
Receive an e-mail from Global Opportunities about the outcome of your study abroad application and your allocated university abroad. 
14 December 2020 Deadline to respond to the outcome of your application
Accept or reject your allocated university abroad online. 
December - January 2021 School of Modern Languages (SML) study abroad registration period
SML students submit online registration to Global Opportunities with school approved year abroad plans.
January - June 2021 Study abroad applications due to partner universities
Complete applications directly to host university abroad as instructed by Global Opportunities by the given deadline. 
January - March 2021 Global Opportunities meetings with outgoing students
Attend meetings oranised by university abroad/country/continent. 
April - May 2021 Global Opportunities pre-departure 
Meetings and online training programmes to help you prepare for your time abroad. 
July - October 2021 Year abroad and TB1 semester abroad programmes
Start of year abroad and TB1 semester abroad study abroad programmes at universities abroad. 
January - April 2022 TB2 semester abroad programmes
Start of TB2 semester abroad programmes at universities abroad.

*Students are notified of their allocated university abroad to study abroad in English by the Global Opportunities team. Students are notified of their allocated university to study abroad in a foreign language by their academic department. Final confirmation of study abroad placement is subject to acceptance from the university abroad. Students must also continue to meet the minimum academic requirement(s) set by their department in order to study abroad.
