Welcome from Dr Raul Crespo

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Raul Crespo and I am the Programme Director for the MSc in Economics, Accounting and Finance. I am delighted that you have been made an offer of postgraduate study at the University of Bristol this year!

I have overall responsibility for your programme’s content and delivery – whilst you are a student here, I will be able to help and advise you on the academic side of your studies.

I am a Teaching Fellow in the Economics Department at Bristol University, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom. My research interest lies in the areas of short-run economic fluctuations and economic growth. I have a particular interest in empirical studies for developing countries. Most of my work has focused on the study of the Venezuelan economy. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from Bristol in 2003, an MSc in Economics and Econometrics from Bristol in 1998, an MA in Economics from Notre Dame University in 1992, and a BS in Economics from Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1988.
