Welcome from Professor Chis Chapman

I am writing to introduce myself as the Programme Director for the MSc in Accounting and Finance. We are delighted that you have chosen to study at the University of Bristol this year.

My role as Programme Director means that I have overall responsibility for the content and delivery of the MSc in Accounting and Finance. While you are a student here, I will be able to help and advise you on the academic side of your studies.

I am a Professor of Management Accounting at Bristol and was previously editor-in-chief of Accounting, Organizations and Society, and so my teaching and research interests emphasise research methodology as well as the practice of accounting. As you will see, members of the Department have research and teaching areas spanning a wide range of subjects and they are internationally recognised experts in their fields. They regularly publish their research in leading academic journals, present their work to both academic and non-academic audiences around the world and maintain close links with professional, industrial and regulatory bodies in accounting and finance.

Registration

Students joining us from the pre-sessional english language programme will need to attend registration on 21st September. All non pre-sessional students should register on 24th September 2018. At registration you will receive your first week’s timetable – make sure you are available as you can expect a variety of activities to take place.
