FeedbackFruits
FeedbackFruits is a dedicated assessment and feedback system integrated with Blackboard. Using FeedbackFruits, you can develop three types of activities: Peer review, Group member evaluation and Automated feedback.
From August 2025, following a successful pilot in 2025 in the Schools of Chemistry and Economics, FeedbackFruits will be available in all Units in Blackboard.
You can use FeedbackFruits to:
- Develop engaging collaborative activities; Peer Review or Group Member Evaluation to encourage student reflection and help students develop the skills and competencies they will use in the workplace.
- Design and build on a library of reusable and shareable resources, eg past activities or digital rubrics.
- Deliver formative and summative assessments, and manage the grades within the Blackboard Gradebook.
- Support both asynchronous and in-class learning.
- Enable anonymity to help students be more confident in providing feedback.
- Provide additional help for students to reflect on their work or to guide them when providing feedback to their peers, in the form of AI options (non-generative and generative).
- Enable your students to receive automated feedback on their drafts before final submissions.
Getting started
All staff with an Instructor/Administrator role in Blackboard have access to FeedbackFruits. You can use one or all three activities depending on your needs. Below is an overview of the tools you can use:

FeedbackFruits can be found in Blackboard course tools. Staff and students can access FeedbackFruits through Blackboard, similarly to a Turnitin Assignment.
