Accommodation offers

When you accept an offer for University-allocated postgraduate accommodation, you are signing a tenancy agreement that legally commits you to pay the advertised rent on the room for the full duration of the tenancy. You should ensure you have familiarised yourself with the terms and conditions of the tenancy and are prepared to accept these before you accept your offer. 

Timeline

Offers for guaranteed applicants for Postgraduate accommodation will be made on a rolling basis from 21 June 2021. This means that we will be sending offers out in batches each week from this date. Please allow time for us to get to your offer before contacting us. 

If you are a non-guaranteed applicant, we cannot issue you with an offer until we have housed all guaranteed applicants before we know if we have any rooms left for non-guaranteed applicants. Please read our information for non-guaranteed applicants for further details.   

Receiving your offer

You'll receive an email asking you to log in to the accommodation portal, to view and accept your accommodation offer. There will be a  deadline by which you must accept your offer, this is usually 7 days from the date of the offer for Postgraduate rooms.  

As outlined in the application, we cannot guarantee that your offer will be for one of your preferred flat profiles or room/residence preferences, but if we cannot meet your preference, we will guarantee to offer you an alternative. If your offer is not one of your preferences, it is likely to be because these residences have been oversubscribed. We will only make one offer of accommodation, so if you are not happy with what you have been offered and decline to room, please be aware that this means we will not be able to make you another offer.   

Accepting your offer 

Check your offer carefully. When you accept your offer, you sign a tenancy agreement - a contract that commits you to pay rent at the rate shown for the full duration of your tenancy. The agreement is comprised of three parts:

If your offer is for one of our Nomination properties, the above conditions will not apply but instead you will digitally accept your tenancy directly with the provider. You should ensure you have read the terms outlined on our nomination properties page as well as those within the tenancy the provider gives you.
