We conduct research into the health of the population with the aim of promoting and protecting health and well-being, preventing ill-health and reducing health inequities.
This includes work on a range of policy topics including obesity, physical activity, nutrition, sexual health, mental health and well-being, tobacco, alcohol and drugs misuse.
We are members of the NIHR School for Public Health- a collaboration between eight leading academic centres with excellence in applied public health research in England as well as the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Evaluation of Interventions which is a partnership between the University of Bristol and Public Health England (PHE) in collaboration with University College London, Cambridge Medical Research Council (MRC) Biostatistics Unit and the University of the West of England.
