Loan periods and borrowing limits

All Arts and Social Sciences Library items are subject to the standard loan periods and borrowing limits with the following exceptions:

  • These materials are confined to the library:
    • new books on display
    • reference books
    • theses
    • items from special collections
    • recent issues of journals
    • examination papers
    • books marked with a red label

IT Counter

The IT counter is co-located with Library Services at the Enquiry Hub, directly after the UCard barriers.

The counter is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4pm, offering an efficient and friendly service for any University IT collections and queries.

Subject Librarians

Get expert advice and support from your subject librarian at any point during your studies! Your subject librarian is the go-to person for help with:

  • accessing library resources
  • finding and evaluating information
  • referencing
  • recommending books or ebooks to add to our collection

Creative Lab

Visit the Creative Lab in the Arts and Social Sciences Library and get hands-on with creative technologies. The Lab hosts training in equipment like digital cameras and audio recorders, VR headsets and 3D scanners. The Lab also loans equipment to current students and staff. Visit one of our daily drop-in sessions to use software like Adobe Creative Cloud or to make a 3D print.
