Models
A particular speciality of the hydrology group is the ongoing in-house development of computer models to support our research. There are 4 main models used in the group:
- CHASM is the Combined Hydrology And Stability Model
- Coup2D simulates rainfall-runoff generation and hillslope-channel coupling
- ESTEL deals with groundwater flow and pollutant transport in porous media
- LISFLOOD-FP is a raster-based model for flood inundation simulation
As part of this we maintain our own computing cluster for code development and are an active user of the University High Performance Computing Facility.
