Entry requirements
We are looking for students who will be successful not only on the Foundation Programme but also when they move on into their full degree programme. This means we look very carefully at your high school grades, and make offers to applicants who show academic promise. If you are a strong performer in your own country, you will need to be so here as well. We have a lot of experience in assessing overseas high school grades, and you can find information on what we would expect from different national systems in our country-specific information.
English with Mathematics
Applicants must have IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.0 in writing (TOEFL 550/213/65 with a minimum of 3.5/18 in TWE/Essay rating), or higher.
English with Arts and Humanities
Applicants must have IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.0 in each part of the test (TOEFL 577/233/78 with a minimum of 4.0/22 in TWE/Essay rating).
English with Physics and Mathematics
Applicants must have IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.0 in writing (TOEFL 550/213/65 with a minimum of 3.5/18 in TWE/Essay rating), or higher.
English with Chemistry and Mathematics
Applicants must have IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.0 in writing (TOEFL 550/213/65 with a minimum of 3.5/18 in TWE/Essay rating), or higher.
English with Economics and Finance
Applicants must have IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.0 in writing (TOEFL 550/213/65 with a minimum of 3.5/18 in TWE/Essay rating), or higher.
Please note : The 2012 - 2013 International Foundation Programme is for students who are 18 years old before 31 December 2012. In exceptional circumstances we may consider applications from younger students. All decisions are final and at the discretion of the Centre for English Language and Foundation Studies (CELFS).
