The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is delivered by the University of Bristol in University premises by University staff. We believe that giving students the opportunity to sample University life during a foundation programme is the best preparation for academic life in the UK.
This programme is only available to students whose first language is not English. If you are a native English speaker seeking further academic preparation programmes, please contact our Admissions Office (ug-admissions@bristol.ac.uk) or International Office (iro@bristol.ac.uk) for further advice.
The courses are designed to prepare international students for undergraduate study in the UK. They aim to improve your language, study skills and subject knowledge in order to succeed at a British university. You will also be given extensive support in applying for undergraduate courses at the University of Bristol and other UK universities.
While admission onto the IFP does not give automatic entry to University of Bristol degree programmes, it does offer the benefit of early engagement with academic and social communities, and enables students to settle into one of the UK's finest and friendliest cities while working towards academic goals.
