Get the TurningPoint software

Warning: Do not download the software from the Turning Technologies web site. It may be a different version to that supported by the University and installed in our teaching spaces. Using different versions of the software to author and deliver interactive presentations increases the chances of a compatibility issue occurring, and will leave you without support. 


UoB-managed PCs 

TurningPoint can be installed on a UoB-managed PC from the Software Centre. If you can't see TurningPoint in your Software Centre, send an email request to To avoid delays, include the PC's ‘IT number’, which should be displayed on a sticker on the PC. 

New Ways of Working laptops 

TurningPoint is available in the Company Portal for NWoW laptops.

You can also install it by following the steps below: 

  1. Click on this TurningPoint link to download the zip file and save it locally. You will need to enter your UoB credentials when prompted. 
  2. Unzip the file, open the folder inside it, and click on the TurningPoint_Installer_8_5_4_5.exe file to run it and install the latest version of TurningPoint on your laptop. 

Personal laptops 

To install TurningPoint on a personal laptop, send an email request to, asking them to supply you with the same version that is currently installed on the University's PCs. 

Teaching spaces 

All centrally-managed, and many locally-managed, teaching spaces have TurningPoint installed. If it is not available in a locally-managed teaching space that you use, request that it is installed by emailing If you can, include the PC's ‘IT number’ which should be displayed on a sticker on the PC.

These teaching spaces already have a TurningPoint receiver connected to the presentation PC. You should avoid plugging a second receiver in to a PC, as this will force a channel change in one of the receivers.
