Reader in Classics

As the previous Classics Hub Director, Genevieve regularly travels across the south west region to share her research with schools. Her lectures on ancient comedy (‘From Homer to Homer’) and on cyborgs and robots in Greek myth ('Science-Fictions and Cyber-Myths') are particularly popular. She also gives talks to teachers and students studying Ovid at GCSE and A-Level. This year, she has developed a new resource booklet - Science of Stories - which uses ancient classical myths as a way to ignite curiosity, develop ‘science capital,’ and deepen understanding of key scientific concepts.
