Recruitment events

Employer Events

There are a number of ways in which employers can engage with students by attending or hosting their own recruitment event. At Bristol employers can:

Attend a Careers fair

This gives you exposure to students in high volume - over 4000 students attended a careers fair in 2017. Our fairs are well known and heavily promoted across campus. Many of our fairs are also industry-specific to put you in front of the right audience.

Run a Promotional Event

We can help you find the prime location and time on campus to hold a pop-up event that will attract the best audience. We liaise with a variety of University contacts on your behalf and are there on the day to ensure the event runs smoothly. We will also promote this via various channels.

Run a employer presentation

We call them presentations but these can be interactive events, networking nights or skills-based sessions, designed to meet your own needs. The traditional format does not work for everyone and we consult our University contacts in order for you to deliver a presentation that maximises student engagement.

Planning more than one activity? Event packages

If you are booking more than one event, it may be worth considering our new event packages. This is a convenient way to buy into a group of activities at once, saving you time and giving you extra opportunities to engage outside of your main recruitment activity on campus. We are introducing this based on employer feedback. For more information, please contact:

Tailor made - working with you to plan your activity at Bristol

Although these events can be booked separately we can work with you to maximise your attendance on campus, and talk to you about how best to plan your activity and make the most of it.

The programme of presentations and employer events runs throughout the academic year. We are keen to continually support your engagement with Bristol students and graduates, and can accommodate employer events in the Careers Service or in a number of departmental locations.

Key dates (including term dates) are available on the University website.

2018 programme

This year we have reviewed and considered student and employer feedback to enhance our employer events for 2018:

Across the board, we are hoping to link the fairs with existing and new events happening in the academic schools to raise student awareness and encourage attendance.

Traditionally our careers fairs have been run over two consecutive days with different employers attending each day. In order to further encourage students to attend both days and to reduce confusion about the days being different, we are splitting these up into different weeks.

With some of the fairs we are planning to add more opportunities for employers and students to engage. We are still in the planning stages for much of this but the fairs are likely to include more talks and interactive sessions. We will keep you updated about this as there will be opportunities for employers to be involved in much of this. Equally if you have any ideas to share with us please do so.

This will hopefully enhance the experience for both employers and students, making the events more than just recruitment fairs.

Taking into account the changes above and feedback we have decided to change the names of some of our careers fairs. These are listed below but please visit our Employer events 2018 page for more information.
