Enteropathogenic E. coli

Dual immunofluorescent labelling combined with strong autofluorescence of internal elastic lamina (green) provides a three-colour image of rat artery. TRITC-conjugated antibodies localise the inwardly rectifying potassium channel (Kir2.1; red) and AMCA-conjugated antibodies localise alpha-actinin in smooth muscle (blue). Image obtained using a Leica TCS NT confocal microscope system with Kr/Ar and Ar-UV lasers.
