Course structure

The first two years of the course provide a broad background in mathematics, similar to our single honours mathematics degrees, and include relevant European language units.

Year one consists of compulsory topics. In your second year you can start to shape your degree by choosing from an extensive range of topics that most interest you.

Provided you fulfil the progression requirements of the Study Abroad in a Modern Language degree, you will spend your third year abroad at one of our partner universities studying mathematics in a foreign language. To find out more about studying abroad, visit Centre for Study Abroad.

On returning to Bristol you will complete your final year, choosing from a wide range of units from our MSci Mathematics course, and benefiting from our pioneering research.
