Students' Union

When you join the University of Bristol, you automatically become a member of Bristol Students’ Union. Bristol SU is an independent charity led by Full-Time Officers (elected by current students) who work to improve your university experience and make sure your voice is heard.

We sit at the heart of student life and we’re here to help you find your community, make your voice heard, and support you through your time as a student.

Bristol SU Services and Opportunities

We believe great things happen when people come together, and Bristol SU is where that starts.

• We represent your academic interests and help you make change on the things that matter most to you. 
• We're home to more than 300 sports clubs and societies covering a wide range of interests.
• We provide volunteering opportunities and many other initiatives.
• We organise lots of events including post-grad meet ups for a chance to meet fellow PGR and PGT students.
• We provide quality services, including our lettings agency, academic advice service and housing advice service.

Bristol SU Spaces

The Students’ Union is a multi-site organisation with spaces for students at the heart of campus in Senate House, the Richmond Building and at our newly opened Sloan Robinson Building at Temple Quarter Campus. Senate House is where most Bristol SU staff are based, and you can also find space to relax in the SU Living Room, or work collaboratively in the SU Loft.

The Richmond Building houses two theatres, a café-bar, photography darkroom, pottery and dance studios, rehearsal rooms and a swimming pool. It is also home to one of the city's largest venues, the Anson Rooms, where you’ll find special events designed to bring students together. New this year is the Anson Rooms Bar, which can be booked for student groups and social activities.

Sloan Robinson Building is home to our newest SU Living Room, with views of the platforms at Temple Meads Station, it’s the perfect place to unwind.

You’ll also find five Sensory Rooms across Sloan Robinson, Senate House, and The Richmond Building. Designed for students in mind, whether you need a dedicated space to focus, escape from the stresses of the day, or just relax, in an accessible, controlled and either more or less over-stimulating environment.
