You need to organise funds for your tuition fees and living costs before you arrive at University. If you have the talent and ability to succeed at Bristol, concerns about funding your studies should not stop you from applying.

Our Student Funding Office provides information on studentships, bursaries and scholarships. We can also advise students about postgraduate study loans. You'll receive confirmation of any scholarship or award before you start your studies.

Self-funded study

Postgraduate master's loan

Students living in the UK can apply for a postgraduate master's loan. This funding is supplied by the UK Government and can help with your course fees and living costs while studying for a master's degree.

This loan is not means tested and the amount you can borrow will depend on where you live. Your eligibility will be determined by your loan provider, course and previous education.

If you’re studying part time, your loan payments will be spread over the full course duration.

Scholarships, awards and bursaries

Bristol Master’s Scholarship

The Bristol Master’s Scholarship provides financial support to UK postgraduate taught students from underrepresented backgrounds. Scholarships worth £2,000 each are available for 50 talented students.
