Guidance and policy
University guidance and policy related to trans and non-binary inclusion are currently being reviewed in light of the ruling by the Office for Students of 26 March 2025.
We are proud to support Bristol Pride and join city-wide celebrations of LGBTQ+ life. Throughout June, we'll be sharing staff and student stories, research studies, events and activities, culminating in our involvement in Bristol Pride Day, 12 July 2025.
- Supporting LGBTQ+ StaffLGBTQ+ people form an integral part of our University community. We aspire to a fully inclusive culture where staff feel able to be themselves in the workplace.
- Pride Week Film ScreeningThursday 10 July, 4:45 pm, Arts Complex, Lecture Theatre 3. The story of Will Ferrell and his best friend Harper Steele, who embark on a road trip across America following Harper coming out as a trans woman in 2022. All students and staff are welcome.

- Join the Staff LGBTQ+ networkThe staff LGBTQ+ network supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other sexualities and gender minorities, who work at the University.
- Join the Student LGBTQ+SocietyThe student LGBTQ+ Society supports, represents and unites the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and plus students of Bristol University.
- Free resources on LGBTQ+ rightsThe Bristol Univerity Press have collated a list of resources that University faculty and students can access via their library for free.
