What led you to do this degree at Bristol?

I was really interested in studying crime and why it happens and who commits it, and when I started researching university courses I saw the Criminology degree at Bristol. I knew Bristol had a very good reputation and I liked that it was a new course as I felt everyone would be really committed to it.

What were the best things about the course?

It was really interesting and the staff were also all lovely and very approachable. If ever I had a problem I felt like I could go to them. I also spent a year in Sydney, Australia, for my year abroad and I loved it.

What are you doing now? How did your degree influence your career path?

I am doing a two-year police training course. I’m studying for a graduate diploma in professional policing while also doing shifts as a police constable alongside that. My degree is quite related to what I’m doing now. A lot of the modules are criminology based so the degree really helps with that. It has also given me a good grounding in skills like essay writing and referencing that have been very useful for this course.
