The NSPCC has developed an adapted version of ‘Letting the Future In’, a practice guide for a therapeutic intervention for sexually abused children and young people, for use with children and young people with learning disabilities. A planned pilot of this adapted version (LTFI-LD) is being run in four NSPCC service centres over two years.
The University of Bristol was commissioned by the NSPCC to undertake a formative evaluation of the pilot which will use mainly qualitative methods to provide early feedback on the experience of using the guide that will feed into its further development. In addition, the feasibility of a further (impact) evaluation will be considered, including the development of an evaluation design and the identification of measurement tools. The evaluation formally commenced in June 2015 although work has been carried out since January 2015.
