This study aims to provide an evidence-informed review of family uptake and perceptions of enhanced provisions for disadvantaged 2-year-olds and their families in ten children’s centres in Bristol. The focus of this study will be on the families who are being offered a combination of funded nursery provision and a range of family support provisions to understand ‘what works’ in their perception. What do they value or not and what are their reasons behind this? Are parents taking advantage of the family support provisions as well as nursery places and what are the reasons for this? The study will involve data collection primarily from a user's perspective (parents and carers), as well as gaining insights from children’s centre staff. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with Bristol City Council on this important piece of work.
